Wee Rob Sailing Canoe

Length overall 12’3” Beam 28” Weight 43 lbs (exclusive of sailing gear)

Sailing canoes similar to this model were wildly popular on both sides of the Atlantic at the end of the 19th century.  This version by noted designer Iain Oughtred is an updated interpretation, combining the qualities which led to its popularity with modern construction materials.  Features include a balanced lug sailplan utilizing a leeboard, watertight flotation chambers fore and aft, and foot-pedal steering with a retractable rudder.  The model pictured here sports multiple examples of carbon fiber hardware fabricated in my shop.
These vessels were frequently referred to as “poor man’s yachts” due to their exquisite level of fit and finish, and I strive to carry on in that tradition.  Built to order with a wide range of options for the discerning owner.
