The owners of this vessel are carrying out a sensible long-term plan of a manageable amount of repairs each year. I was recruited in 2025 to repair the damaged lead keel and to repaint the boot top and accent stripes.
Her keel had extensive damage to both the leading and lower edges. The damaged areas were ground down to bare metal and coated with WEST epoxy, followed by multiple applications of microballoon fairing compound.
The fully faired keel was finished with two coats of barrier compound before the application of anti-fouling.
The residual boot top and accent stripe were removed and the repainted.
New boot top and accent stripe completed in time for spring 2025 relaunching.
